Read this paragraph in a melodramatic tone: (at the end, make the gesture of being stabbed in the heart)
“My heart tightened. I couldn’t believe he said that about me. This friend I had known all my life. What was close to my heart had been completely revealed to someone else. Betrayed. Wounded. Confused. Angry. »
We never see betrayal coming. It’s always from someone we trust (otherwise it wouldn’t be a betrayal). Someone who means a lot to us. It always hurts and makes us angry. We don’t want to forgive. We never want to talk to that traitor again!
Judas’ betrayal was not a surprise, Jesus knew it was going to happen. He always chose to trust and take care of the person who would betray him, even though he was aware of the betrayal that was going to take place. And not just a small betrayal (like someone who speaks to us behind our back), this betrayal was a betrayal of life or death!
But to you who are willing to listen, I say, love your enemies! Do good to those who hate you. Luke 6:27
God, help me forgive, love my enemies and do good to those who hurt me.
