The Heart Of The Father

David wanted to keep his heart pure, it wasn’t always easy. We are also faced with this: KEEPING OUR HEART PURE. But life brings us all kinds of situations where our hearts are tested, where bad things come out of our hearts.

David became a great king, but Saul, who was jealous, tried to kill him several times. Each time, David chose to keep his heart pure and forgave him.

Are there people around you who have hurt you? And you know you have to forgive them because the feelings you have towards them aren’t nice? Forgiveness is not always easy, but the Father helps us to forgive. On the cross, Jesus said this to his father: “Father forgive them because they do not know what they are doing” (Luke 23:34). Jesus had a pure heart and David had that same heart. You too can have that same heart.

Application

  1. Place a bristol board heart on a wall.
  2. Ask children to write on a paper the name of someone they must forgive.
  3. Ask them to put their paper in an envelope on which they must write “I choose to forgive”.
  4. Finally, ask them to stick this envelope on their hearts. The heart represents the heart of the Father.
