Sand In A Bottle

 

Material

• Coloured handcrafted sand
• Funnels
• Clear plastic bottles with lids

 

Steps

1. Distribute the bottles and funnels.
2. Tell the children that God promised Abraham something incredible. Read aloud the following biblical passage.
   • “I will certainly bless you. I will multiply your descendants beyond number, like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will conquer the cities of their enemies. And through your descendants all the nations of the earth will be blessed—all because you have obeyed me.”” Genesis 22:17-18.
3. Ask the children to create “generations” by adding layers of coloured sand to their bottles using the funnels.
4. Ask them if they know the meaning of God’s promise to Abraham. What kind of promise would you like God to give you for your grandchildren? God has kept his promises and he will also keep his promises to you.
