Daniel Devotional

Read the biblical text: Daniel 2.20-23

I Trust You

Practical

Each member of the family tells of a situation in which they were afraid.

Reflexion

Daniel’s story is so interesting! He loved God so much and trusted him so much that he was ready to spend the night in a pit full of lions. Although we were probably never trapped in a lion’s den, there were probably times when we had to trust God when we were scared or stressed out.

Can you think of a moment like that? Let us think of a verse that we could remember when we are afraid and need to ask for the help and presence of Jesus.

Try Psalm 56.3 “But when I am afraid, I will put my trust in you.

Questions

  • What scares you or has scared you? Where were you? At home? At school? At the church?
  • What were the highlights of your day? What made you happy today? Did you make anyone else happy today? Talk to God and thank him for these things.
  • What were the weaknesses of your day? Did something make you sad? Did you sadden anyone? Remember that God loves you very much and that you are so important to God and nothing changes that, but you can talk to God about these things.
  • Think about tomorrow. Ask God to be with your family until the next day and help you know that he is with you in all things.

Prayer

Thank you, God, because I can trust in you no matter what happened in my day and no matter what awaits me tomorrow.
