Material

• 1 cup (cup of tea)
• 1 bucket
• Water
• Dark coloured liquid (like cola)

Steps

Part One

1. Fill a bucket with water.
2. Pour water from the bucket into the cup of tea. Explain that God is like the bucket and that we are like the cup of tea. We can never fully understand God, but we should spend our lives trying to be as full of him as possible.

 

Part Two

1. Empty the cup of tea and refill the bucket with water.
2. Fill the cup of tea halfway with the cola.
3. Repeat that God is like the bucket and us like the cup of tea. We must be filled with God’s wisdom, love and power. However, to do this, we must empty ourselves.
4. Pour water from the bucket into the cup of tea and show how the water mixes with the cola. Explain that God cannot fill us with blessings, power, love if we are already filled. First, we have to empty ourselves.
5. Pour more water from the bucket into the cup of tea until all the cola is gone.
