EN-E-Esther For Parents

Fears Are Heavy!

Esther Devotional

Read the biblical text: Esther 4

Practical

Gather a stack of books. Choose a family member with his arms extended while others load books on his arms, one at a time, until he can no longer take them. During the process, family members will share their fears as books are added to the pile.

Fears are like the pounds you carry – each adds weight and increases the burden. On the other hand, when you give up your fears to God, it is as if you are removing a book from the pile: the charge is lighter as your load rises.

Reflexion

Esther 4:4 … and the queen was very frightened.

At some point, we all have fears, but they must not paralyze us. God wants to give us his peace.

God doesn’t want our fears to overwhelm us. John 14:27 said, ““I am leaving you with a gift—peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” God loves us and is in charge of our situation. Even when things are not going as planned or as we had hoped, we don’t have to worry or be afraid. We can be free of our fears because He will never leave us or abandon us. (Hebrews 13:5). He will carry the burden for us!

Like Esther, trust God!
