Material

  • Slices of bread
  • Carrots
  • Pretzels
  • Black pepper grains
  • Small paper plates
  • Knives

Steps

  1. Give each child a small paper plate and a slice of bread.
  2. Ask the children to cut their slice of bread in the shape of a cross.
  3. Then distribute 1 small carrot.
  4. Ask them to cut it lengthwise and place half of the carrot in the center of the cross. It will be the body of Jesus.
  5. Then ask them to cut the other half of the carrot into 4 sections to create 2 arms and 2 legs. Then ask them to place these little pieces on the cross in order to create the arms and legs of Jesus.
  6. Give the children a piece of pretzel. Ask them to break it in half and place the small pieces in the top of the carrot to create a small crown.
  7. Finally, give them 2 grains of pepper that they will place on the carrot to create the eyes of Jesus.
  8. Make the connection with the story of the day.
