The 30 Coins (Old Ones)

 

 

Material

  • 1 envelope per child
  • 30 coins per child of different colours (blue, red, green, yellow, orange, lilac)

 

Steps

  1. Give each child an envelope with 30 coins of different colours.
  2. Explain to the children that they will have to fill their wallet by having 10 blue coins, 5 reds coins, 2 green coins, 5 yellows coins, 3 purple coins, 5 oranges coins.
  3. On your signal, tell the children to exchange money with each other in order to get the right wallet content. For example, they can ask for 2 red coins, to get a blue one in exchange, they can give one, they can work as a team.
  4. The winner is the child who first manages to have the right content.

 

Coins (version for the little ones)

 

Material

  • 1 tray in which there are all the different coloured coins in the center of the room
  • 1 tray per team (4 teams)

 

Steps

  1. On a table in the center of the room, place 1 tray in which are all the coins.
  2. At the other end of the room, place 4 trays on another table (1 tray/team).
  3. Divide the children into 4 teams and place them in row next to the 4 trays.
  4. On your signal, name a colour. The first player of each team goes to the bac in the center of the room and takes a coin of the requested colour, returns to carry it in his tray and places himself at the end of the line, the 2nd player does the same, the 3rd etc.
  5. Then, the facilitator names another colour, the children then have to bring back the coin of the requested colour. At the end of the time (2 or 3 minutes), the host randomly names a colour and the team with the most coins wins the game.
