Pride

 

 

Material

• 1 balloon (birthday balloon)
• 1 pump to inflate balloons

 

Steps

1. Talk to the children about pride and inflate the balloon at the same time. Say that pride is a bit like inflating this balloon (you can also talk about the expression having a swollen head).
2. Continue and say that humility is when I release the air contained in the balloon (the balloon returns to its original shape).
3. Finally, inflate the balloon to the point where it will burst and tell the children that when we do not manage this pride and let it grow, ruin happens, our life changes, it doesn’t go well!
4. Read the following verse.
   • “Pride goes before destruction, and haughtiness before a fall.(the balloon will burst soon!). Pride ends in humiliation, while humility brings honor..” Proverbs 29:23
