Name The Animal

Material

• Animal illustrations on paper (attacheddownload)

 

Steps

1. Have the children sit in a circle.
2. Place the visual aids in the center of the circle.
3. Give each child an animal illustration.
4. Ask the children to pretend to help Adam name the animals.
5. Show one of the animal illustrations.
6. Ask the children to say incorrect names for the animal. They may suggest “elephant” or “zebra” when it comes to a rabbit, for example.
7. The child with the illustration in his hand should shake his head to say no until the real name of the animal is suggested.

• What is the next animal we are going to name?
