Steps

  1. That’s the principle of the “John said” game.
  2. Play the role of Joshua.
  3. Ask the children to do things like jumping on the spot, touching their noses, going around in circles, etc.
  4. Children should only act when you say “Joshua says …”.
  5. If a child runs without you saying “Joshua says,” he or she must sit down.
  6. The last to stand becomes Joshua.
  7. Repeat as long as there is interest.
  8. Make the link with the story you’ll be telling. In the Bible, the Israelites followed Joshua’s orders.
