Material

• Round cookies or cupcakes
• Orange icing
• Brown icing
• Brown icing (in tube)
• M&M’s (3 per child)
• Small pretzels (4 per child)
• Popcorn
• Plastic knives

 

Steps

1. Give 1 round cookie or 1 cupcake to each child.
2. Tell them to cream it in two stages. First, they have to put orange icing all over the cupcake. Then they have to make a circle of brown icing at the bottom of the cupcake.
3. Tell the kids to place 2 M&M’s just at the top of the brown icing. It’s the eyes.
4. Tell the children to place 1 M&M in the center of the brown icing. It’s the nose.
5. Tell them to create the lion’s mouth using brown icing in a tube.
6. Ask the children to put 4 small pieces of pretzels around the lion’s mouth. It’s the whiskers.
7. Finish the snack by asking the kids to put popcorn around the cupcake. It’s the mane.
