Steps

1. Show the house.
2. Explain to the children that the church is like a house.
3. Recite the nursery rhyme and make the gestures.
4. Repeat slowly a few times.
5. Encourage the children to join you in doing the gestures.

 

Nursery Rhyme

• This is God’s house

(Form a roof with your hands.)

• Where holy people gather

(Close the roof as if to pray.)

• Here are the little children

(Show the children with the finger.)

• Who sing for God who hears them

(Point to the sky and touch your ears.)
