Sort The Wheat

 

Material

• Colourful cereals (Froot Loops)
• White sheet
• Coloured pencils
• Bowl

Steps

1. Before class, colour circles the same colours as cereal on a white sheet.
2. Give each child a coloured paper.
3. Place a handful of cereal in a bowl in the middle of the table.
4. Ask the children to sort the cereal according to their colour.
5. Make a connection with the story you’re telling. In the Bible, Ruth had to sort the wheat to get food for Naomi and herself.

 

Optional

• You can use a small cake pan to sort the cereal. Simply put a circle of paper of the right colour in each cake pan and let the children place the cereal in the right one.
• You can also prepare the game sheet at the computer.
