The Heart Of The Father

Do you sometimes look at your friends and want what they have (a beautiful toy, Lego blocks, a doll)? This happens to all of us, but we must remember that to want to have what others have is not good, it is a sin. When we sin, we don’t feel good.

Fortunately, God the Father sent His Son Jesus to the cross to forgive all our sins! God the Father created each of us unique and in his image. In the Psalms, David says to God, “I praise you for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful, I know that full well.” In creating you, God created a wonderful creature. He created just one (name the children one by one). There’s just one like you.

Small Exercise

  1. Ask the children to think about what they envy about the other people around them.
  2. Then ask the children to repeat this prayer: “Father, I ask forgiveness for the times I have wished to have what others have. Thank you for creating just one like me.”
