Moses’ basket

Material

  • Small squashes or pumpkins
  • Knife
  • Large container

Steps

  1. Prepare the activity before the children arrive. Cut the top third of the small pumpkins. Make sure you leave enough to make a boat.
  2. Use the knife to cut a circle of flesh.
  3. Fill the tray with water.
  4. Then put the pumpkins in the container.
  5. Make the connection with the story you tell. In the Bible, Moses was in a basket that floated on the water.

Optional

  • If you don’t have time to prepare pumpkins, you can take boats into the game.
  • The more flesh you remove, the better the pumpkins float.
  • Children like to pour water from one pumpkin to another.
  • To prevent pumpkins from rotting, simply put them in a ziploc bag in the refrigerator, but it doesn’t last forever.
